The National Market Traders Federation (NMTF) has teamed up with Live UnLtd to find and support young entrepreneurs aged 11-21 who want to make their mark in the market.
The first National Youth Market, for young people aged 11-15, takes place on Saturday, 11th May, in Albert Square in front of the Town Hall in Manchester.
There will be over 30 stalls manned by young people from all over the UK selling a wide variety of goods and services to the shopping public.
Beforehand, they will receive training by a markets expert and will be supported throughout the day by the NMTF, Live UnLtd and Manchester Markets.
Young people aged 16-21 will take part in the market trader start-up scheme, First Pitch, which is run by the NMTF and delivered in partnership with market operators all over the UK.
Receiving a cash award of up to £2,000 from Live UnLtd, these young people will receive up to five days free trading during Love Your Local Market, a staggered rent for 12 months, and free NMTF membership – plus a training guide and a mentor!
