Upcycling: turning textile waste into sustainable fashion – live chat roundup
In a recent live chat, a panel of sustainable fashion experts joined us to explore how upcycling is infiltrating the industry
Wouldn’t it be great if Love Your Local Market spawned rolling out sustainable, upcycled fashion stalls on markets across the UK? It’s another way for bright, young, innovative, talented potential market traders to try out a sustainable business idea….and what better time to try than during LYLM fortnight when the incentives to trade are for around £10 per pitch on most markets.
Have you got a sustainable or ethical product that could start young people on the road to their own business? If you have give us a shout as we are compiling a resources page for the 100 youth markets that are outlined to take part in this years LYLM. We already have a coffee business from Uganda through the Pop Up Foundation and an apple pressing business in Wiltshire, both giving school children, charities and social enterprises the chance to sell fantastic products without the fuss of going into production.
