23 Jun Supporting New Traders
Lots of market operators provide the support to new market traders. NABMA produced a booklet last year setting out a number of local schemes which demonstrate how market operators help people get established. The support includes discounts from rent, grants, loans of equipment, advice, business planning and mentoring.
Where such local schemes are not available or need to be supplemented the National Market Traders Federation have introduced a range of initiatives to help market traders. Recently they have introduced NMTF First Pitch which is a bespoke resource to support a person starting in market trading. In addition to NMTF First Pitch the Federation is also introducing an Academy and Apprenticeship scheme. All these resources are designed to support new traders starting on the market.
