Markets Industry goes to Parliament

On Monday 29th April the UK markets industry took to London to attend a parliamentary reception at the House of Commons, organised by Love Your Local Markets lead organisation, Nabma.

cake-cutting3small-300x223At the reception to launch Love Your Local Market DCLG Ministers, Mark Prisk and Don Foster are pictured cutting the fabulous LYLM cake with fellow MPs Ann Coffey and Jane Ellison and NAbma President, Geraldine Carter.  The cake depicting the famous London landmark was made by Warrington Market stallholder Alison from Alison Loves to Bake who recreated fellow stallholders from Warrington in the market in front of the cake.

The Reception attracted a large crowd of market industry representatives and MPs and heard that 532 markets have now signed up to LYLM 2013.  Though this figure has now risen to nearly 650.  For more information on how the campaign is going this year you can find out all the facts in our Interim Report.
