08 Jan Markets at the centre of our High Streets
Much effort is being made to revitalise our High Streets.
Following the Mary Portas Report a number of different initiatives have emerged and it is important that markets are at the centre of the High Street debate.
Parking, public transport and public safety are typical of the issues that need to be addressed. Business rates are also an important issue for markets following on from the recent revaluation of many markets.
Markets cannot exist in isolation and need to form partnerships with Town Teams and other stakeholder groups.
