It was all go on Hertford Market on May 23rd for Love Your Local Market fortnight, with a visit from Minister Mark Prisk and a Mystery Shopper.

The mystery shopper gave good feedback on those traders who took part on the day, but the exercise also introduced an element of fun with the winner, winning 4 days free trading worth around £100 which is a great incentive to traders, in addition to all traders on the day of the event not being charged a pitch fee.

The East Herts markets team have achieved some great coverage in the local paper the week before the event and after and their local radio station ran coverage of the event and of the competition they ran encouraging listeners to get down to the market to win a Prize Hamper.

One of the brand new traders on the day was only 18 years old, producing and selling her own ice cream from a local farm with milk from her Jersey herd.

The team carried out the Love Your Local Market  Economic Impact Questionnaire, and we would urge anyone else who signed up to the scheme to get your paperwork into Nabma Projects Officer John Perrition as soon as you can, as this information is vital to measuring the impact of LYLM.

The event was deemed a success with traders indicating interest in having a more regular market in the week, so some more great news!
