Handmade Market coming to Bolton

Handmade Market coming to Bolton

Bolton born Entrepreneur Katherine Brookes of MWL Events is making quite a name for herself running successful Handmade Markets in and around her hometown of Stalybridge, Tameside.

With plans to relocate her business back home to Bolton in the near future Katherine has spent the last few months making plans and hunting out the perfect venue as a backdrop for a brand new and exciting event, Bolton Handmade Market which will take place on 4 dates throughout the year, in the beautiful Cloisters Suite at the Holiday Inn Bolton Centre, Higher Bridge Street, Bolton.

The first Bolton Handmade Markets will take place on Sunday 29th March and the doors will open at 10am until 4pm. There will be around 40 handmade craft and food stalls on display at the first market as well as refreshments and face painting for the kids. “It’s a really great event for all the family and we like to encourage visitors with an appreciation for a handcrafted piece to spend a few hours at our events and hopefully take home a unique gift or maybe even the inspiration to get creative themselves.”

There is a small 50p admission charge into the market (free for under 12’s) and this month MWL Events have chosen local charity The Jennifer Charity to benefit from all funds raised. Included in the admission fee is also an entry form into a prize draw with the chance to win a fabulous handmade hamper made up of items donated from every stall.

MWL Events, established April 2013, is a unique company dedicated to providing the highest quality handmade craft events. They listen to feedback and strive to make their events a positive and distinctive experience for both customers and traders. They have a strong ethos which sets them apart from other craft events within the marketplace as they ensure that the person selling is the person who’s made the item; a simple rule which ensures equality and fairness for traders, as well as reassurance and confidence for customers. MWL Events bring together and promote a network of local talent as well as identifying opportunities to expand the network further afield creating opportunities to grow our brand throughout the North West. “We see ourselves as ambassadors for the handmade industry and our mission is to make ‘Handmade in Britain’ something to be proud of”.

MWL Events plan to run the Bolton Handmade Market again on 7th June, 6th September and 8th November and are always on the lookout for local talented artists, makers and food producers to sell at their events.
