Professionalising Markets

The National Association of British Market Authorities One Day Conference in Birmingham is an annual event not to be missed.

This years theme is professionalising markets and some fantastic speakers are lined up and of course, we will be hearing the results of all the winners of the Great British Market Awards which will be presented this year by Andrew Percy MP, Minister for Markets.  Among the  including the category for Best Love Your Local Market Event.

10.10 Keynote Speaker – Changing the Landscape of Markets

Ken Grieg, Grieg and Stephenson will outline some of the projects the company have been involved in which have changed the landscape of markets and raised their profile around the country.

10.35 Market Management – Past and Present

NABMA presents the results of its survey on Management Arrangements and an update on markets who have gone through a change process.  After working with Government looking at different management models we ask the question as to what messages are coming back 12 months on from operators where change has been introduced?

NMTF has set up a Primary Authority Partnership with Burnley Borough Council. This legal partnership aims to give consistent and ‘assured advice’ to NMTF members on small business matters providing legal protection under challenge.
