Borough Market - Best Attraction NABMABest Market Attraction

Borough Market is London’s most renowned food market; a source of exceptional British and international produce. It is a haven for anybody who cares about the quality and provenance of the food they eat – chefs, restaurateurs, passionate amateur cooks and people who just happen to love eating and drinking.

But it’s not just the sheer quality of the food on offer that makes Borough Market special – it is also about the people, the place and our values.

The Market celebrates the diversity of food and seeks to share a wealth of artisan skills and specialist knowledge that its traders possess. The Market works in partnership with community groups to inspire people about food and sustainability. The Market supports small businesses and social enterprises, providing them with guidance and support.

It is a place to find inspiration, meet people and learn something new.

In recognition of its unique status, the Market was awarded this special award at the end of a momentous period in the Market’s long and rich history. It saw the successful re-opening of the Market’s Victorian trading hall, Three Crown Square, after years of disruption caused by the construction of a new rail viaduct and the opening of the Market’s newest space, The Market Hall. This has widened the Market’s scope for community and educational activities, including a Demonstration Kitchen and space for a city garden. Due to the commitment and hard work of the traders, trustees and staff, the Market has returned strengthened and renewed.

The Market has led the field with its Food Quality Process and its support of artisan and primary producers. It has been recognised for its wider support and sharing of good practice with the market industry within the UK and internationally.
